"If we have a correct theory but merely prate about it, pigeonhole it and do not put it into practice, then that theory, however good, is of no significance."
"On Practice" (July 1937), Selected Works, Vol. I, p. 304.
A Chang Jiang is more than just a bike, it's an aesthetic. We're creating, collecting, and sharing related art, and items based on that art.
We've hired a couple artists to create works that capture (for us) the spirit of the CJ. And we're going to try and put out some new art/designs every month or so.
Some of the art we've created we're putting on shirts, coffee mugs, bags, patches, etc. because we think they're cool, and we think you might like them, too. Don't misunderstand our motives, we're not profiting here. It is inconceivable that this site could ever be "profitable". We've already sunk too much time and money into this thing to ever be in the black. So, our selling some merchandise is an attempt to pay for the cost of hiring the designers, and if possible prevent us losing more money than we need to.
