"It is necessary to master Marxist theory and apply it, master it for the sole purpose of applying it. If you can apply the Marxist-Leninist viewpoint in elucidating one or two practical problems, you should be commended and credited with some achievement. The more problems you elucidate and the more comprehensively and profoundly you do so, the greater will be your achievement."
"Rectify the Party's Style of Work" (February 1, 1942), Selected Works, Vol. III, p. 38.

Tools

It is always important to have the right tool for the right job. CJs fortunately require relatively few specialized tools. Whatever level of servicing you do, or anticipate doing, the tools discussed here are likely sufficient.

Trunk tools

Chang Jiang's originally came with a tool roll perfect for handling all common CJ maintenance and repair issues. If you're lucky your CJ may have come with one. For those without one, you'll need to assemble a mobile toolkit for yourself. Roll up tool carriers are to be found on various motorcycle sites as well as eBay. We will list the tools recommended for such a roll here as we compile them.

add list of tools for mobile tool kit here, ideally include photo of original CJ toolkit and the specifics of the tools, which type, sizes, etc.

Shop tools

While a mobile tool kit is sufficient for most situations, that doesn't mean they are ideal or sufficient for all situations.

To help sync your carbs, the Carburetor Synchrometer Tool is an excellent tool (and only about $25).

Helpful tools for sidecar owners are a car jack (can be considered a trunk-tool too)and a jack stand.
