It is not always possible, nor always advisable, to use parts originally made for the Chang Jiang. Whether it's availability, or reliability, here are a list of some parts known to fit/work on Chang Jiangs.

Battery 12v
Yuasa Part # YTX7L-BS (Specs. 12 Volt, 6 Amp, 85 CCA, 4.5" x 2.8125" x 5.1875), fits in the holder behind transmission.
CB18-A battery for a 12V motorcycle (M1M and M1S).
Battery 6v
Purchase whatever fits for an M1 6V. It will be the same size battery as fits a /2 BMW. J.C. Whitney is also a cheap source of batteries. Dennis Kirk is another good on-line source.
A standard 7 inch sealed beam headlight costs about $12 and is available from a local auto parts store. The bulb is number #6014 for 12V models and #6006 for 6 volt models. You can also use a 12V halogen headlight bulb, which is #6024 in 12V models.

Front Brake Light Switch
Domi Racer, in Cincinnati, OH sells a Triumph part that will work. It costs about $12. The part number is 95602085. This switch mounts on the front brake cable. You have to cut the cable housing and solder on a new cable end to install the switch. Connect the wires in parallel to the rear wheel brake switch. You can also purchase a heavy-duty cable with the switch already mounted from F2 Motorcycles in England. They will FedEx it to your door.
Solid State Voltage Regulator (12v)
Niehoff WA 709 (for 1974-6 Porsche 911 and 914), Standard Motor Parts (SMP): VR124 (Black wire goes to ground, green wire to black wire on bike, red wire connects to black/white wire on bike) (Editor's note: this is assumed to be 12v, if anyone can provide further details, please do.)
Spark plugs (SV)
Champion: H10C (but you will need to grind the end to fit the spark plug wires, it does not twist off), Torch: 4114, Bosch: W4AC, NGK: 5858

Carb Spacer/Gasket
